TOPIC: Supply Chain Accountability

Over the past four years, a lot of government resources have been devoted to regulating the trucking industry.  From a safety point of view, all indications point towards fewer accidents and fatalities involving large trucks.  We can all agree this is a very good thing.  If taken too far, however, continued regulations focused exclusively on trucking will quickly become toxic to our industry and economy.  Some will argue that independent contractors are most affected by this trend which perhaps points to a hidden agenda that goes far beyond safety and best practices.  It is time to address the health of the entire supply chain and make all accountable rather than singling out owner-operators and drivers.
